     Richard DeWeese is a founding member of DeWeese & Bae, LLC. His practice focuses on corporate transactions, lending, and real estate. Richard has experience with a wide variety of business transactions, both in the United States and in Asia, and past clients have included some of the largest public companies and financial institutions in the United States and Korea. Richard received his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Alabama School of Law in 2007. After graduating Richard began his practice in the Capital Markets and Real Estate Finance practice group of one of the largest law firms in Atlanta. In 2010, Richard relocated to Korea, where he practiced law in the Corporate and International Transactions department of one of the largest firms in Korea.


  • Represented numerous clients in connection with corporate transactions, including share subscriptions, share purchases, asset purchases, acquisitions, spin-offs, technology licenses and venture capital investments.

  • Represented numerous public corporations as general corporate counsel to their Korean subsidiary entities.

  • Represented a publicly listed Korean pharmaceutical company in formation of a $70 million biopharmaceutical joint venture with French state owned entity.

  • Represented one of the largest steel manufacturers in the world in obtaining term loan facilities in excess of $300 million in Vietnam, India, China, and Mexico.

  • Represented three of the largest financial institutions in the world in connection with consent solicitation for modification of $8 billion global note program resulting from the reorganization of one of Korea's largest banks.

  • Recovered over $4 million for creditors in bankruptcy proceedings in multiple jurisdictions.

  • Represented numerous nonprofit organizations in connection with formation and governance of various charitable or social welfare organizations.
